Advertisment: (Adding ‘Snap Shots‘?)

Snap Shots is the world’s most popular way to give your users a more fun and interactive experience on your site or blog. It’s a complete system designed to help you get more from your site.

APPEND – Wednesday 14th October 2009 – This little mini-blog is presenting CODE segments from the ‘Bookmark and Share’ – WIDGET recently added. Now that I have added these three lines of text – It will push that code back enough so that it is NOT displayed on the ‘Front-Page’ of the blog.

The CODE that was being displayed is pasted below.

var addthis_pub = ”; var addthis_language = ‘en’;var addthis_options = ‘email, favorites, digg, delicious, myspace, google, facebook, reddit, [...]

widget support

October 5, 2009

Making the API key work for different static plugins requires some effort. This post is here to remind me WHERE to go, (AND; Read / Tryout the instructions)  before contacting the support team) – and get some idea of WHAT is required to make this thing work, on more than ONE blog. URL – Widget<<< Support >>>

Opps – Thats the WRONG link (Its is related – BUT not the link I wanted) The link for the API keys that I am referring to is HERE

AUTOMATTIC – Widgetizing Plugins

September 20, 2009

One thing leads to another; – Just investingating http://www.worldtimeserver.com/clocks/ – and then somehow, I end up reading about wordpress wigdets and stuff – (Maybe because these are the t0ols that allow me to do stuff quickly and easily), anyway – here is a link to one of sites that provide insight to the underlying code, connected with wordpress.

AUTOMATTIC – Widgetizing Plugins + This page contains technical instructions on porting a plugin to use in the widget system.

Testing wp-cumulus

August 23, 2009

Ok, now, .. figure out HOW to adjust the settings of wp-cumulus

Ok, that not to hard, just enter the <width=”300″> into the insertion point and that will override the default. (NICE!) , .. Would be nice if it worked for me!

PROBLEM: How should I put this? The wp-cumulus works, but the ‘adjustement-aspect’ is not working for me. So might have to try one of the other ways of installing this tag-cloud. (soon, .. it can stay for now!)

OTHER LIMITATIONS: (Built into the _wp-TagCloud)

The tag-cloud has a limit on the number of ‘tags’ that can be displayed, (even if I continue to ADD-MORE-TAGs) they simply will not be displayed. I will have to visit some wordpress documentation sites to findout more >>>

OTHER TAG-CLOUD Plugin-Options (From the ‘Plugin-Directory’)

[wp-cumulus width="300"] the rotating tag cloud named WP Cumulus

Welcome to the GRD blog space

Home

Installed WordPress (Ver 2.8) 7:15pm Friday 12 June 2009, and as usual I need to become familiar with how this thing works, so dont expect too much just yet.

Well, that all seems to work.  RSS-feeds all taken care of by WordPress. Ability for anybody to ‘comment’, also taken care of by wordpress. (All to easy)

Why would anybody want to learn about HTML and Web-Design?

[SUNDAY 14 June 2009] Now, instead of learning about how HTML 4.0 or 5.0 works, I have to learn to use this thing called wordpress (Blogging Software). This inturn has a ‘learning-curve’ around the administration console, and hence becomes another chore to use until it is understood what / how it behaves. Grumble grumble!

The blogging software does not work in a manner that I am used to, .. so in response, I place time/date/year comments at the beggining of each new entry, until I understand BETTER, how this might be done automatically by the blogging software, (If at all)

USING CATEGORIES; This feature will be good, once I figure out how it is supposed to work, (As opposed to how I might think it works). Example, I have added a number of ‘categories’, and it simply places a Link on the home pages which points to the ‘already-existing-text-&-comments’. I expect categories to separate various content by name. I am missing something here, and more experinece is required.

MORE; I have added ‘Test-CAT’, as a place to mess-about and explore further, .. HOW exactly the category feature works.

[Friday 19 June 2009] The category thing has been sorted now. It is not difficult. I just had to do some other stuff, and come back to THIS a little later, and it all ‘just-works’ now. Created category ‘Technolgy’, and that should be where most computer related stuff will be filed.
